Ireland's Biodiversity Awareness Campaign

Spring Arrives at the Calendar Garden

Pictured are Emma Doyle, age 7, and garden designer, Fiann Ó Nualláin of Renua.

Children from the Robert Emmet CDP After School Club discover nature and get their hands dirty as they plant the first trees in the Calendar Garden in Bridgefoot Street, Dublin 8.

‘Notice Nature’, the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government’s biodiversity awareness campaign, is working with Renua, an urban regeneration programme, to promote nature in the Liberties area and to make it a greener place to live.

The Calendar Garden will be planted as part of the Liberties community gardening programme over a year long period with the 13 native Irish trees associated with the Ogham calendar.
